From Aisha Boyd, LMSW:
You have decided to take a new step up in life from feeling imbalanced!! In life we are presented with gaps along the way. Many of us face pressures of our day-to-day life situations such as relationships, family, aging parents/ children, employment and financial stress among others. With my support you will feel empowered, learn coping skills and receive compassionate feedback. My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that past experiences, thought processes, and patterns of behavior contribute to present difficulties. Understanding these factors will help us to work together toward the changes you would like to see.
I am informed by evidence-based as well as life-time approaches. I have training in Crisis Intervention, cognitive behavioral, suicide prevention, assessing for safety & risk factors, mindfulness and creative therapies, but I do believe that the art of psychotherapy is in working collaboratively to find what is best for you. My intention is to create a safe, respectful, supportive space to hold the work of therapy within. I work well with people who are open to considering new perspectives, and who understand that the work of growth is both challenging and worthwhile.
I have worked in the field for many years assisting individuals and families with Mental Health concerns in various communities. I am up to date with new creative approaches regularly and look forward to working with you.
