For Children: Opening to Spirit of Respect and Joy

The purpose of this children¹s group is to teach children the true nature of respect toward self and others, including all of life around us.

Respect begins with the recognition that we are receiving something very special from someone or something. In fact gratitude is often a companion of respect. As we identify and feel really present with the gifts this world provides, we can begin to love and appreciate more, and in turn respect more. We can begin to see the gifts we have within us as well, learning to respect and appreciate ourselves.

This special 3 session children's group series will simply begin with observing, feeling, and smelling live herbs, helping children identify how they serve us in special ways. Weather permitting, we will also do a "backyard" nature walk, also seeing my garden and the plants.

We will also look at the gifts we have within, starting with our voices and our feelings and what they do for us. We may explore through different mediums, such as drawing, who we really are, in our feelings, so we can recognize and respect the gifts and creativity we carry that may serve others (and enjoy it!) just as the plants serve us.
